STAFF & APPRAISERS AT H & B At Henderson & Butt Appraisals, one of our biggest strengths is our large staff of experienced real property appraisers. Henderson and Butt Appraisal Consultants Ltd. consist of two hard-working staff members and 11 professional, independent contractors. Our staff members consist firstly of our most experienced and devoted employer, Cec Butt AACI, CRP, owner and co-founder of Henderson & Butt Appraisal Consultants Ltd. More about Cec later... Our remaining staff members maintain Henderson & Butt as a well fueled, oiled and readily able entity to provide you with the best service possible. We pride ourselves on always maintaining a professional, accessible, and well informed environment to make sure that your experience with Henderson & Butt is as comfortable and convenient as possible. Our appraisers and their areas of practice are shown below. CEC BUTT, AACI, P.App, CRP Cec is one of the founders of Henderson & Butt Appraisal Consultants Ltd. He received his Accredited Appraiser Designation (AACI) in 1988. Cec has been associated with the marketing valuation of real property in Edmonton, Calgary, and throughout Alberta since 1970. He has carried out valuation assignments throughout Western Canada; Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario; St. John, New Brunswick; the Northwest Territories; and the states of Montana and Hawaii. Cec specialized in commercial and industrial properties, land evaluations, expropriations, hotels/motels, resorts, restaurants, multi-family and complexes, shopping centres, and other major real estate investment properties. He has frequently testified as an expert witness with respect to hotel/motel properties and insurance matters in the Court of Queen's Bench, Alberta. More recently, Cec has earned a designation in Reserve Fund Planning (CRP - Certified Reserve Planner). In this regard he has undertaken reserve fund analyses for condominiums throughout western Canada and the Northwest Territories. KATHLEEN JACKSON Kathleen came to work for us in September 2006. Her role at Henderson & Butt is to ensure our bookkeeping, and general office records are always accurate and up to date. She is also in charge of maintaining an efficient office environment, which is an integral part of any successful business. Henderson & Butt has thrived under her very qualified, hard-working management skills, and we look forward to her continued influence on our success. She has also completed our most recent 2008 Home Renovation Guide. BRITTANEE DENESIK Brittanee is the newest addition. She joined us in July, 2007. Brittanee's role at Henderson & Butt is quite broad. She is in charge of typing, editing and preparing all commercial reports. Brittanee is also in charge of publishing those reports, which involves many hours of printing, p reparing photographs, minor graphics, building addendas. She also binds the reports into the completed works that you, our customer, have come to appreciate.
OUR INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS RESIDENTIAL APPRAISERS LOUIS BALOG, CRA Louis entered the fee appraisal business in 1991 and began appraising for Henderson & Butt Appraisal Consultants Ltd. in 1992 and is currently our Residential Manager. He earned the Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 1998. Louis has carried out appraisal assignments throughout central and northern Alberta regarding complex residential and executive properties, relocation properties, residential acreages and recreational properties, including corporate transfer/relocation, foreclosure/ litigation expropriation, timber and historical evaluations. Louis specializes in relocations and executive homes. WAYNE WALL Before turning to real estate appraising in 1997, Wayne worked for many years in the Oil Industry. Seven years of experience have made Wayne able to analyze almost any type of residential property. He specializes in all types of residential appraisals including lake propeties, foreclosures and Actual Cash Value appraisals for insurance purposes. He also has experience in commercial appraisals. COLIN JACKSON Colin began appraising for Henderson & Butt in 2000. He is currently a candidate appraiser but has completed all of his course requirements for his CRA (Canadian Residential Appraiser) designation which he plans to obtain in the fall of 2008. Colin appraises all types of resideential properties with special focus on executive homes, condominiums and relocation appraisals. Additionally, Colin is pursuing a career as a condominium Reserve Fund Planner. He is completing his studies through the Real Estate Institute of Canada in order to obtain his CRP (Certified Reserve Planner) designation. Colin's experience in market value appraisals and condominium reserve fund planning has proven to be a valuable combination in serving those clients within the condominium industry. TAMARA (Tammy) TREMBECKY Tammy joined Henderson & Butt in April of 2007 after finishing her prerequisites to become a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. She is currently working towards her Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) designation having completed all but one of the required courses. Tammy appraises a variety of residential properties. Tammy graduated from the University of Alberta in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Psychology with minor in Sociology. ANNETTE KRUSNITZKY Annette began her career here as a receptionist in 2004. While on maternity leave, she completed her appraisal pre-requisite courses and became a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada in the early spring of 2007. Since then, she has been successfully building her knowledge in residential appraising through the guidance of Louis Balog and from a lot of effort and hard work. She is currently enrolled at UBC, to continue her training towards Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) designation. Annette specializes in condominiums and recreational lake properties. KATHERINE NICHOLLS Katherine became a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada in the fall of 2006 and joined Henderson & Butt in the same year. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts , majoring in Psychology. She has completed all but one of the requirements for her Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) designation. Katherine has appraised a variety of residential properties and has established a strong base of experience that residential appraising demands.
COMMERCIAL APPRAISERS DAVID CARR, BBA, MBA David graduated from Bishop's University with his Bachelor of Business in 1973. By 1978, he had earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. After several years experience with sales management, David made the transition to commercial appraising in 2002 and continues to work toward his Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation. Some of his experiences as an appraiser include: retirement homes, churches, movie theatres, shopping centers, airport hangars, vacant land, industrial condominiums and retail properties. SHEY ERGIL, MBA Shey earned a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Alberta in 2000. His program encompassed a broad foundation of corporate finance topics, which included portfolio and risk management, mergers and acquisition, and international finance. Building upon prior experience in residential property management and new venture creation, Shey joined the appraisal industry in 2003. As a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, Shey has experience with both residential and commercial property appraisals. In addition to appraising commercial properties, Shey has conducted market valuation and feasibility studies for land development, strata conversion, and condominium reserve funds. Shey has also analyzed damaged properties and properties in receivership. JASON BAINS Jason joined Henderson & Butt in 2006 and specializes in appraising commercial real estate including retail complexes, multi-family apartments, office buildings, industrial warehouses, hotels, subdivisions, land and other types of investment properties. Jason is a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada and is currently working towards his AACI designation. Before turning to real estate appraising, Jason worked for many years in the Hospitality Industry and gained considerable experience in acquisition of properties and business management. MOE RAHALL After 12 years in the retail industry, as well as in sales, He made the transition to commercial appraising for Henderson & Butt in June, 2007. He became a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada in Spring 2007 and continues to work towards his Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation. He is diversified in all aspects of commercial appraising, having appraised numerous commercial properties. Some of his assignments include: industrial buildings, retail, movie theatres, vacant land, agricultural properties and shopping centers. JONATHAN KAM Jonathan specializes in commercial real estate and has completed appraisals for mortgage financing, sales/purchase, and insurance purposes. He has been involved in appraising various types of commercial real estate including retail complexes, multi-family apartments, office buildings, industrial warehouses, and other types of investment properties. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Biological Sciences and a minor in Business. He also is a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. He is currently enrolled in the UBC Real Estate Division, Post Graduate Certificate Program in Real Property Valuation, in pursuit of the AACI designation.
